Wives World ~ Abuse and Intimacy

The enemy loves disrupting our ability to be intimate. Of course because intimacy with Jesus Christ is the closest to heaven that we will ever be on earth. And someday…for eternity…we will have it 24/7. If we are unable to have intimacy, then we cannot get close to the ONE who makes our days go well in spite of circumstances.

Again, I am amazed at the damage of abuse towards women and how much it causes so much harm for close relationships. Women who’ve been abused do NOT get close…they don’t get close to their husbands, their children and God.

Intimacy injuries create private prisons of isolation and loneliness. The more alone we get the harder it is to be in relationship. What an intense pain it is for those whose deepest desire is to be close…yet their greatest fear.

My heart goes out to women who are simply unable to connect their hearts. God created us to do just that…connect in relationship. To be unable to do so out of fear is living hell.
